What distinguishes us
The quality of the work climate and the building of healthy and successful organizational cultures are becoming a matter of ever increasing concern in large public service organizations. We have perfected organizational development approaches for funded research and intervention programs that contribute to the creation of a work climate beneficial to the health of the individual, the efficiency of the organization and the quality of services it provides. At CRISO, we help our clients (1) to perform a rigorous assessment of their psychological work environment using evidence-based tools and (2) to devise and implement improvement or corrective processes tied to realistic objectives as well as intervention strategies tailored to the organization’s needs.
The members of CRISO, through their ties to the McGill University Health Center, have intimate knowledge of the Health and Social Services Network and by extension the large professional service organizations in the public sector. The validity and reliability of the solutions proposed by CRISO have been scientifically tested. We have received more than a million dollars in research subsidies over a period of five years. CRISO possesses the skills and experience needed to merge work psychology research methods and organizational development intervention methods, combining them to produce sustainable solutions for organizational health. Finally, we enjoy the support of partners at the Universities of McGill, Sherbrooke, Laval, and Québec – researchers who actively participate in our funded research and intervention programs while giving us access to the main fields of expertise related to our mission: organizational psychology, management, organization of work and health in the workplace.
Our Clients
CRISO provides services to public service organizations. As part of the health and social services network, CRISO has many clients in this sector of activity, namely the majority of the university health centres and their affiliates as well as a number of health and social services centres in the Montreal and Quebec City areas. Whether they belong to the health or education networks or to municipalities, these public service organizations face common challenges in response to which CRISO services can make a difference. For instance, these organizations are mostly “managed from the outside” and thus can find themselves in situations where their leaders cannot exercise full control over the volume of demand or their resources. Moreover they generally deal with a “reactive and procedure-minded” organizational culture, which creates obstacles when implementing change management programs. That is why we were able to coach successfully several City of Montreal departments when they undertook, over the last few years, several organizational development projects in relation to work climate and corporate service quality.
